Sustaining Engineer I - Operations

About the role

Vertiv is looking for a Sustaining Engineer in Dubai. The engineer provides immediate response to design-related production issues, manages the product lifecycle for busbar designs and improves design for manufacturability. Busbar is an Engineered-To-Order product, so each customer order is specifically engineered, which adds complexity and variation to the supporting teams. The role suits someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment that fosters problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate cross-functionally improvements to design for manufacturability covering safety, quality and efficiency
• Provide design support for issues found during production and for supply chain constraints
• Support new product development and introduction (NPDI)
• Ensure the quality of ETO designs before they are released to production

Required profile

• 1-3+ years of experience in product design
• 1-3+ years of experience in sheet metal and copper design
• Experience in design for manufacturability
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Required skills

• 3D modeling and 2D drafting
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
