System Analyst – Cards & Payments (Business & Technical Bridge)

About the role

The client is seeking an experienced System Analyst to act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams for credit and debit card systems. The role focuses on translating business requirements into robust system solutions within a banking environment in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, document and validate business and functional requirements for card issuance, authorization, clearing, settlement and digital channel workflows.
• Produce functional specifications, system flow diagrams, interface definitions and data mappings.
• Perform impact analysis for change requests and advise on feasibility and risks.
• Support solution design, integration and delivery, including SIT, UAT and regression testing, and resolve defects.
• Coordinate with external vendors and third‑party providers while ensuring compliance with security standards such as PCI DSS.
• Collaborate with internal IT teams (development, infrastructure, security, operations) to align solutions with business needs.
• Utilise Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence) to manage project activities.
• Apply knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for cloud‑hosted applications and hybrid environments.

Required profile

• Strong experience in banking, specifically with credit or debit card systems.
• Deep functional knowledge of card lifecycle processes and payments regulations.
• Proven ability to translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Experience working with internal and external technical teams in a regulated environment.
