Systems Engineer (Linux)

About the role

DeepSource Technologies is looking for a Systems Engineer (Linux) to manage, maintain and support its Linux-based server environments. The role covers configuration and troubleshooting, keeping systems highly available and performing, and applying best practices for security and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Linux operating systems on physical and virtual servers.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues and optimise server configurations.
• Implement and manage backups, disaster recovery and security updates.
• Automate routine maintenance tasks with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
• Work with development and network teams so applications deploy and integrate smoothly.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users and IT staff on Linux systems.
• Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures and changes.
• Take part in capacity planning and system upgrades with minimal downtime.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Linux distributions such as Red Hat, Ubuntu and CentOS.
• Experience with server management, monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with networking, security best practices and cloud services.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication.
• Certifications such as RHCE or CompTIA Linux+ are a plus.
