Systems Engineer – System Safety Analysis

About the role

We are looking for a senior Systems Engineer specializing in System Safety Analysis to lead the safety engineering lifecycle for next‑generation UAV platforms. Based in Abu Dhabi, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that airborne systems meet international aerospace safety and airworthiness standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage safety requirements for UAV avionics, mission and flight‑critical systems.
• Lead Functional Hazard Assessments, Preliminary and Full System Safety Assessments, Fault Tree Analyses, FMEA/FMECA, Common Cause and Particular Risk Analyses.
• Allocate Development Assurance Levels and derive safety‑driven system requirements.
• Ensure hazards are identified, mitigated, tracked and closed throughout the product lifecycle.
• Assess system architectures for redundancy, fault tolerance and integrity.
• Support system integration, HIL testing, simulation campaigns, ground and flight testing, and verify safety objectives.
• Maintain compliance documentation, safety plans, hazard logs, safety cases and certification evidence for standards such as SAE ARP4754, ARP4761, MIL‑STD‑882, NATO AEP‑4671, DO‑178C, DO‑254.
• Lead safety work‑groups, mentor junior engineers and interface with customers, certification authorities and suppliers.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in aerospace or defense system safety engineering, preferably with UAV or military aviation programs.
• Strong knowledge of international aerospace safety and airworthiness standards.
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary environments and lead safety reviews.
