TBM Mechanic – Dubai Loop

About the role

The Boring Company is building an underground tunnel network in Dubai. We are seeking a TBM Mechanic to keep our Tunnel Boring Machines operating efficiently on the Dubai Loop, minimizing downtime and ensuring rapid tunnel progress.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues across all TBM systems, including cutterheads, conveyors, hydraulic circuits, and support gear.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to reduce risk of failure during critical dig operations.
• Respond quickly to unplanned breakdowns with field‑ready mechanical solutions.
• Inspect, adjust, and rebuild mechanical components to extend machine life.
• Support TBM assembly, commissioning, and launch activities as the project mobilises.
• Work underground on rotating shifts to support 24/7 tunnel progress and ensure compliance with UAE regulations and safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience as a heavy‑equipment or industrial mechanic, preferably in mining, tunneling or oil‑field environments.
• Solid understanding of hydraulic systems, gearboxes, rotating equipment and rigging fundamentals.
• Ability to work in confined underground environments and handle high‑pressure repair scenarios.
• Currently based in the UAE or GCC region, or eligible to work in the UAE.
• Hands‑on mentality and willingness to get dirty to get the job done.
