Teacher - Music (Immediate Start)

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Music Teacher for Al Rayana Charter School, an American curriculum, mixed-gender primary school in Abu Dhabi, for an immediate start. The school is described as a sustainable, innovative learning community and is part of the Aldar family of schools.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver inspiring music lessons that meet curriculum requirements and cater to the whole ability range of the class
• Plan engaging lessons with colleagues, liaise with parents and work with curriculum support staff
• Organise classroom provision and learning resources, and assess and record student progress using Target Tracker
• Use assessment data to inform planning and intervention, and give feedback to parents at conferences
• Manage classes according to the school's behaviour policy and act as a positive role model
• Meet with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists when needed
• Take part in curriculum action groups, school events and activities, and run a weekly ECA each term
• Communicate with parents and carers about achievements and well-being using school systems such as CPOMS

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in the related subject with PGCE or another teacher qualification
• Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience
• Experience working with students whose first language is not English
• Clean enhanced DBS check or police check
• Commitment to the school's core values and respect for all members of the school community
