Teaching and Bus Assistant (Early Years)

About the role

The Teaching and Bus Assistant supports early years teachers with classroom activities and ensures safe transport of pupils. The role combines classroom assistance, child safeguarding and bus duties in a vibrant international school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers with lesson planning, preparation of materials and ICT equipment (computers, iPad, digital camera, DVD, Bee Bot).
• Lead small groups or individual children during classroom tasks, story time and art & craft sessions.
• Supervise children during cloakroom use, playtimes, transitions and bus boarding/alighting.
• Transport pupils safely, conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, take attendance and enforce seat‑belt use.
• Provide first‑aid, implement emergency procedures and report any incidents to senior staff.
• Maintain confidentiality, follow safeguarding policies and support vulnerable children.

Required profile

• Minimum diploma or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years experience in a school setting as a bus or teacher assistant.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Operating ICT equipment (computers, iPad, digital camera, DVD, Bee Bot).
• Conducting vehicle safety inspections and completing related documentation.
