Technical Contracts Lead – BFE

About the role

The Technical Contracts Lead – BFE is a senior leadership position within Etihad Airways’ Technical Procurement function. You will own the end‑to‑end sourcing and contracting for a portfolio of BFE (Board‑Fit‑Equipment) products, managing spend of over $2 billion across a five‑year horizon and supporting the airline’s growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for high‑value BFE projects, including seats, in‑flight entertainment, connectivity, lavatories, galleys and related products.
• Lead complex contract negotiations with OEMs, MROs and other suppliers, ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders and optimal commercial outcomes.
• Prepare project plans, status reports and contract summaries for senior leadership and end‑users.
• Partner with Aircraft Programs, CAMO, Product & Hospitality, Legal, Finance and other functions to ensure compliance with airworthiness regulations and internal approvals.
• Identify and implement process improvements using digital tools, AI, machine learning and RPA to increase efficiency.
• Coach and mentor junior staff in sourcing and contract management practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement, category management or contracting, preferably in aerospace or aviation.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear strategies.
• Proven ability to influence senior executives and engage with OEM and MRO leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
