Technical Engineer – Public Cloud

About the role

Emirates Group IT is looking for a Technical Engineer – Public Cloud to join its Platform Engineering team. You will help design, build and operate next‑generation cloud platforms that support critical business functions across the Emirates Group.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support deployment of solutions and ensure seamless integration and operational efficiency.
• Provide technical input for capacity management, IT service continuity and availability, and resolve incidents within agreed service levels.
• Deliver technical troubleshooting, problem analysis and ensure solutions meet architectural and security standards.
• Offer technical consultancy to project teams and act as a technical member delivering work packages.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT engineering, preferably with public‑cloud environments.
• Demonstrated ability to produce clear technical documentation and operational procedures.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience managing public cloud services (compute, storage, networking, serverless, containers).
• Programming with Python, TypeScript/JavaScript and building APIs, React, Node.js.
• Containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure as Code and automation with Terraform, Bash or PowerShell.
• Version control (Git), DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitoring, logging, observability and basic cloud troubleshooting.
