Technical Manager (Joinery/Fit-Out)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead cost optimisation across our interior, joinery and fit‑out operations. The role focuses on improving processes, controlling project costs and applying value‑engineering strategies while preserving design quality and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct labour and material cost audits; establish productivity standards using time‑and‑motion studies, work sampling and historical data.
• Collaborate with Estimation, Production and Design Engineering to validate material specifications, quantities and cost efficiency.
• Develop and implement value‑engineering solutions that reduce waste, optimise resources and enhance construction efficiency without compromising aesthetics.
• Review material and subcontractor costs against budgets, flagging variances or overruns.
• Analyse alternative construction methods, materials and processes to identify the most economical options.
• Provide technical input to Purchasing for cost‑effective procurement.
• Assist Estimation in preparing quotations and calculating man‑hours for complex joinery and fit‑out works.
• Support QA/QC initiatives, ISO programmes and continuous‑improvement projects aligned with lean manufacturing principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the interior, joinery or fit‑out industry.
• At least 3 years in a cost‑control or value‑engineering role.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials and costing.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
