Technical Operations Engineer – Advanced Capabilities (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

Anduril Industries is building a new simulation centre in Abu Dhabi to deliver immersive wargaming and augmented‑reality training for regional partners. The Technical Operations Engineer will join the Air Maneuver Dominance / Advanced Capabilities team, initially working from London while the centre is built, then relocating to Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the customer‑facing lead for deploying Anduril hardware‑software solutions with the Emirati Ministry of Defense.
• Plan, set up, configure and test equipment and software for AR/VR and simulation demonstrations.
• Execute multi‑day wargaming exercises, handling deployment, recovery and on‑site troubleshooting of hardware and software.
• Own the deployment of Anduril’s AR/VR gaming engine and mission‑simulation software at events and exercises.
• Identify potential issues proactively and implement solutions with minimal external support.
• Gather user feedback, conduct After‑Action Reviews and relay insights to product and engineering teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering customer‑focused technical solutions across diverse operational environments.
• Strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a “healthy paranoia” for readiness before customer use.
• Eligibility for country background check and security clearance.
• Willingness to travel, be based in the UAE and collaborate with teams in the UK and USA.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with AR/VR technologies, virtual servers, audio/visual and desktop software.
• Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, Slack, Quip, MS Office and Zoom for collaboration.
• Knowledge of military operations, tactics and related technology such as unmanned systems, communications and electronic warfare equipment.
