Technical Planner Audio – Event Production

About the role

As a Technical Planner for Audio within the Event Production unit, you will be responsible for translating creative concepts and project briefs into practical, buildable audio solutions. You will work closely with project teams and support units to ensure designs are accurate, coordinated, and ready for on‑site implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the technical planning and design of audio systems from concept through delivery.
• Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings in Vectorworks, including system layouts, equipment positioning, cable routing, and rigging interfaces.
• Prepare audio system designs, signal flow diagrams, equipment specifications, technical schematics, and patching information.
• Perform technical calculations to guarantee appropriate coverage, performance, and equipment selection.
• Coordinate audio designs with lighting, video, and rigging disciplines to ensure fully integrated solutions.
• Review venue drawings and architectural plans to identify constraints, interfaces, and risks.
• Support equipment list preparation, scope of work definition, and supplier/sub‑contractor requirements.
• Liaise with internal teams, external suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors to clarify requirements and resolve design issues.
• Review supplier and subcontractor technical submissions for compliance with approved designs.

Required profile

• Experience working within a design and engineering function for event production.
• Ability to collaborate closely with project teams and support units.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure designs are accurate and buildable.
