Technical Pre-Sales Engineer - Servers & Storage

About the role

An experienced Technical Pre-Sales Engineer is sought to take technical ownership of the server and storage components of enterprise infrastructure solutions. The role covers sizing, architecture, Bills of Materials and tender technical compliance, acting as the technical authority on servers and storage throughout the sales cycle. It is based in Abu Dhabi and is on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements, workloads and constraints, then design server and storage solutions covering platform selection, architecture, sizing, performance, redundancy and connectivity
• Integrate designs with the customer's virtualization, backup/DR and data-centre environment, and perform capacity planning, workload sizing and performance analysis
• Visit sites and assess government and defence facilities; evaluate and compare OEM platforms
• Prepare high-level and low-level designs, solution architectures, technical specifications and BOMs, and respond to RFPs, RFQs, tenders and compliance sheets
• Support sales meetings, presentations, demonstrations, workshops and PoCs, and coordinate with implementation and delivery teams

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering or a related field
• 10-15 years of experience
• Fluent written and spoken English (mandatory); Arabic is an advantage
• Eligible for UAE government and military site access clearances
• Valid UAE driving licence
• OEM certifications (HPE, Dell, NetApp, Nutanix, Pure Storage, Veeam) are an advantage

• RAID, snapshots, replication, tiering, deduplication, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NVMe-oF, zoning and multipathing
• VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows Server and Linux
• Backup and disaster recovery architecture
