Telecom Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Telecom Maintenance Technician will perform day‑to‑day maintenance activities for all telecom equipment within the assigned field or area, ensuring reliable network performance and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine and preventive maintenance, repair, and testing of telecom equipment following SOPs and safe working practices.
• Respond promptly to work requests and work orders issued by the Telecom Engineer.
• Obtain required work permits and certificates in line with HSE regulations before performing tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections of telecom installations to verify serviceability and ensure test equipment is calibrated and certified.
• Monitor network performance using Network Management Systems (NMS) software and report failures to the Telecom Engineer.
• Install new equipment and perform modifications according to approved plans, supervising external contractors as needed.
• Collaborate with instrumentation technicians, external agencies (e.g., Etisalat) and maintenance contractors for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Update maintenance records, databases, as‑built drawings and the Maintenance Management System.
• Repair and test telecom equipment modules in a workshop environment.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma in a relevant field or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience, preferably in the oil & gas industry.
• Familiarity with HSE regulations and work‑permit procedures.
