Terminal Operator (Fuel Terminal)

About the role

The Terminal Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient loading and discharging of road tankers at a fuel terminal in Ajman. Working mainly at the loading gantry, the operator prepares tankers, operates loading arms, pumps and metering systems, and ensures all movements comply with company procedures and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Load and discharge road tankers safely, verifying documentation, driver authorisation, compartment allocations and seals.
• Connect and disconnect loading arms and hoses, ensure earthing/bonding and over‑fill protection before each transfer.
• Operate loading rack equipment, pumps and metering systems while monitoring transfer quantities.
• Stop transfers immediately and respond to any abnormal conditions such as leaks, alarms or spills.
• Complete all loading and discharge documentation accurately and on time.
• Operate pumps, valves and pipelines for receipt, transfer and dispatch of petroleum products.
• Gauge storage tanks, record product levels and temperatures, and report abnormal conditions.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and assist maintenance during preventive and corrective activities.
• Maintain good housekeeping throughout the terminal and yard.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months of experience in loading and discharging road tankers at a fuel terminal.
• Familiarity with company procedures and HSE practices related to petroleum terminal operations.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and respond quickly to safety incidents.
