Threat Assessment Risk Manager

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking a senior professional to lead its aviation security risk management function. Based in Abu Dhabi, you will shape an intelligence‑led, risk‑based security posture that protects passengers, crew, aircraft and assets across the airline’s global network.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end security risk lifecycle, from identification through monitoring, for passenger, cargo, catering, aircraft handling and airspace operations.
• Direct the geopolitical intelligence capability, fusing open‑source and closed‑source data to produce strategic outlooks, station risk profiles and overflight assessments.
• Maintain 24/7 situational awareness of terrorism, insurgency, insider threat, cyber‑physical and unlawful interference indicators, issuing timely advisories.
• Manage and continuously refresh the Global Security Risk Register, applying structured risk methodologies and ensuring mitigation measures are implemented.
• Drive the risk pillar of Etihad’s Security Management System, embedding KPIs, performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Strengthen relationships with GCAA, foreign CAAs, ICAO, IATA, embassies and industry peers to enhance shared intelligence.
• Provide crisis support and on‑call capability for security incidents and elevated threat states.
• Lead, develop and calibrate the Risk team, fostering a culture of accountability and analytical rigour.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of aviation security experience, with direct exposure to threat and risk assessment activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in security, management or a related field; preferred aviation security management diploma.
• Proven ability to translate intelligence into actionable security measures for senior leadership and operational teams.
