Traffic Safety Engineer – Rail Project

About the role

The Traffic Safety Engineer will plan, implement and monitor traffic management and safety measures for a major rail construction project, ensuring safe movement of workers, the public and vehicles while complying with regulations and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and implement Construction Traffic Management Plans (CTMPs) for the rail project.
• Review and approve traffic diversion schemes, detour plans and temporary traffic control layouts.
• Coordinate road closures, lane reductions and traffic switchovers with relevant authorities.
• Conduct traffic‑related risk assessments and Job Hazard Analyses, and implement mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with local traffic regulations, railway safety requirements and international standards.
• Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in traffic engineering, road safety or construction traffic management.
• Experience on major rail, metro, highway or airport infrastructure projects, preferably in Dubai or GCC.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation or Traffic Engineering; professional registration (PE, CEng) preferred.
