Traffic Safety Engineer – Rail Projects

About the role

The Traffic Safety Engineer will lead traffic safety operations for rail‑related construction projects in Abu Dhabi, ensuring compliance with local authority standards and safeguarding road users, workers, and the public.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and approve Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TTCPs) in line with Abu Dhabi DMT regulations and the WZTM Manual.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure proper implementation of traffic safety measures, signage, barriers and lighting.
• Identify and mitigate traffic‑related risks through hazard assessments and lead incident investigations.
• Coordinate with Abu Dhabi authorities, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to secure approvals and align safety measures.
• Deliver training sessions and toolbox talks to promote a safety‑first culture on site.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation or related discipline (Master’s a plus).
• Professional engineering registration/chartered status preferred (e.g., PE, CEng).
• Experience in traffic safety planning, site supervision and stakeholder engagement.
