UI Engineer – React, Node.js, Python

About the role

Build responsive, accessible, and high‑performance web interfaces for internal banking platforms and customer‑facing products, while also contributing to backend services in Node.js and Python. Collaborate closely with UX designers, backend engineers, and product owners to deliver end‑to‑end features.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reusable React component libraries and translate Figma/XD designs into pixel‑perfect UIs.
• Implement responsive layouts using Flexbox, CSS Grid, and mobile‑first principles.
• Create data‑heavy dashboards with charts, tables, and real‑time widgets (Chart.js, Recharts).
• Manage application state with Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or Context API.
• Integrate REST APIs, handle loading, error, and empty states, and optimise performance through lazy loading, memoisation, and code‑splitting.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Express or NestJS and develop Python services with FastAPI or Flask.
• Collaborate with AI/ML teams to embed model outputs into frontend interfaces.
• Ensure cross‑browser compatibility and WCAG 2.1 accessibility, and write unit tests with Jest and React Testing Library.

Required profile

• 6+ years of production‑grade React development.
• Strong JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript expertise.
• Experience with Tailwind CSS, Material UI or similar design systems.
• Solid understanding of responsive design, Flexbox, and CSS Grid.
• Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Node.js (Express/NestJS) and Python (FastAPI/Flask) backend development.
