VAT Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented VAT Accountant to join our finance team and ensure end‑to‑end VAT compliance across the group. The role involves handling daily VAT transactions, preparing returns, and supporting both internal and external audits.

Key responsibilities

• Support the VAT In‑charge in ensuring end‑to‑end VAT compliance for the group.
• Review daily VAT transactions and assist in VAT return preparation.
• Maintain complete backup documentation for VAT return workings and filings.
• Review VAT recovery processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist the Finance team with VAT interpretation and advisory support.
• Conduct internal VAT audits and support external audits.
• Prepare, submit, and follow up on UAE VAT refund applications via the FTA portal.
• Handle FTA clarifications and correspondence.
• Utilize Microsoft Power BI dashboards for VAT reconciliation, analysis, and reporting.
• Support ad‑hoc tax and finance projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on UAE VAT experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accountancy, Finance or related field.
• Strong, up‑to‑date knowledge of UAE VAT laws and compliance.
• Working knowledge of GCC VAT and exposure to Corporate Tax.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
