Vessel Screening Analyst

About the role

Join OBT Group’s Compliance team in Dubai as a Vessel Screening Analyst. You will support the Group Compliance Officer by reviewing vessels across the organisation, focusing on sanctions and maritime risk factors.

Key responsibilities

• Review vessels escalated from first‑line screening and perform risk‑based assessments using approved tools and data sources.
• Assess risk indicators such as sanctions‑sensitive trading, high‑risk port calls, AIS gaps, and STS exposure.
• Prepare clear, structured screening reports and maintain audit‑ready records.
• Escalate high‑risk vessels or material uncertainties to the Group Compliance Officer.
• Support the improvement of screening templates, checklists, and workflows.
• Liaise with colleagues to obtain additional information and meet review timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, Law, International Relations or a related field.
• Experience in shipping, maritime operations, compliance, risk or screening‑related roles.
• Strong analytical ability, high attention to detail and excellent written English.

Required skills

• Familiarity with AIS data and maritime risk indicators.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and compliance systems.
