Vice President – Strategy & Planning

About the role

We are supporting a leading Abu Dhabi‑based organisation in its search for a Vice President – Strategy & Planning to join the Strategy & Growth function. This senior leadership position drives the company’s strategic planning agenda, working closely with executive leadership, group functions and subsidiaries to turn corporate strategy into clear, executable plans.

Key responsibilities

• Lead annual and multi‑year strategic planning across the Group.
• Translate corporate strategy into measurable priorities and execution plans.
• Develop and challenge strategic business cases, scenario analyses and investment priorities.
• Monitor strategic initiatives, milestones, risks and benefits realisation.
• Produce executive‑level strategy papers, dashboards and decision‑making materials.
• Facilitate senior stakeholder workshops and alignment sessions.
• Drive strong governance, planning methodologies and performance frameworks.
• Lead and develop the Strategy & Planning team.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in strategy, strategic planning or corporate development, preferably within waste management, infrastructure, utilities or environmental services.
• Proven experience operating in large, complex or multi‑entity organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and collaborate across multiple functions and stakeholders.
• Strong capability in strategic analysis, business case development, scenario planning and executive reporting.
• Previous experience leading and developing teams.
• Bachelor’s degree required; a relevant Master’s/MBA or professional qualification is advantageous.
