Visiting and Full-time Faculty Positions in Architecture

About the role

The College of Architecture, Art and Design at American University of Sharjah seeks qualified candidates for visiting (10‑month) and full‑time rolling‑track faculty positions in its Architecture Department, covering architecture and interior design programs.

Key responsibilities

• Teach design studios at various undergraduate levels, including beginning design and core studio courses.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities appropriate to rank.
• For full‑time faculty, engage in scholarly research and publication.

Required profile

• Terminal degree in architecture (M.Arch or equivalent) or interior design (MFA, MID, MA or equivalent).
• Professional licensure and knowledge of design history, theory, and practice are desirable.
• Experience with North American studio‑based design education preferred.

Required skills

• Ability to teach across multiple design disciplines (architecture, interior design, urban design, fabrication, building technology, computation).
• Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to diverse student body.
