VP – Head of Finance, FI & Projects (UAE National)

About the role

This senior finance position leads the Financial Institutions (FI) business across the UAE, providing end‑to‑end financial planning, forecasting and performance reporting. The role acts as the primary finance business partner to the Head of Financial Institutions and supports the EVP – Head of Finance for Wholesale Banking.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive financial planning, forecasting and performance reporting for the FI business to enable strategic decision‑making.
• Partner with the Head of Financial Institutions on pricing models, growth initiatives and geographic expansion.
• Serve as the single point of contact for FI finance, coordinating with the EVP – Head of Finance for Wholesale Banking and consolidating FI data for CIBG.
• Support digital programmes, new product launches and finance transformation projects, ensuring financial integration and governance.
• Drive implementation of new financial products, core system enhancements and digital solutions that improve automation, data accuracy and speed‑to‑insight.
• Lead digitisation of finance reporting and analytics, deploying dashboards, self‑serve tools and advanced modelling.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, IFRS standards and multi‑jurisdictional regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, Risk, Compliance and Technology teams on intercompany transactions, transfer pricing and balance‑sheet optimisation.
• Prepare financial materials and commercial insights for management reviews, EXCO updates and steering committees.

Required profile

• CA, MBA (Finance) or equivalent professional qualification.
• 10+ years of experience in banking and financial services, with exposure to FI business models and product structures.
• Proven ability to lead finance support for transformation initiatives across platforms and geographies.
• Strong commercial acumen and financial modelling expertise.
• Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, accounting standards and global financial controls.
• Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
