Warehouse Equipment Operator

About the role

The Warehouse Equipment Operator ensures safe and efficient movement of goods within a warehouse or distribution centre. The role supports daily logistics by operating material‑handling equipment, loading and unloading shipments, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Move pallets, cartons, containers and other items between receiving, storage, picking, staging and dispatch areas.
• Load and unload trucks, position loads correctly, and secure them for transport.
• Conduct basic pre‑operation inspections, report faults and assist with routine maintenance.
• Follow warehouse traffic routes, weight limits and safety procedures at all times.
• Assist warehouse teams with internal transportation and keep work areas free of obstructions.
• Complete equipment operation logs and related documentation as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or material‑handling environment is preferred.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment is an advantage.
• Relevant equipment operating certification or licence where required.
• Good understanding of warehouse safety procedures and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends or overtime as needed.
