Water Quality Technician

About the role

The Water Quality Technician (ALSS Technician) ensures the health and safety of animals, staff, contractors and guests by maintaining aquatic life support systems at Miral Experiences' attractions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, water tests, analysis and preventive/corrective maintenance of ALSS equipment.
• Operate and maintain life support systems, pumps, motors, hydraulic equipment, filtration, UV sterilizers and related mechanical components.
• Record accurate activity data, complete checklists and maintain inventory of tools, parts and chemicals.
• Handle hazardous chemicals safely and ensure proper storage, usage and disposal according to HSE policies.
• Assist in troubleshooting, repairs and major/minor repairs of pumps, valves, compressors and filtration systems.
• Support draining, filling and isolation of habitats, pools and waterfalls as required.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of experience in Aquatic Life Support Systems, wastewater treatment or recreational pool settings.
• Basic English communication skills (written and verbal) and basic mathematical knowledge.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 45 kg and work in confined spaces with hazardous chemicals.
• Willingness to work shifting schedules including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Water testing and analysis.
• Operation and maintenance of ALSS equipment and life support systems.
• Pump and motor troubleshooting and repair.
• Filtration system maintenance (mechanical, chemical, biological).
• Use of basic hand tools, measuring devices and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
