Web Developer

About the role

The primary coordinator for the web content area, responsible for ensuring timely delivery of accurate web content and maintaining the university’s web presence. This role also leads training on web technologies for faculty, staff, and content managers.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain website content, ensuring currency and compliance with standards.
• Coordinate training programs on web technologies for internal stakeholders.
• Develop and update manuals and documentation for the web team.
• Advise the Web Services, Custom Apps, and Banner teams on design, upgrades, and security.
• Track web usage, server and network performance, and accessibility.
• Supervise temporary staff, interns, and volunteers.
• Research and recommend software, hardware, and system enhancements.
• Respond to user inquiries and complaints regarding web services.
• Stay current with emerging web technologies through seminars and professional literature.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional web development experience.
• UAE national citizenship.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of W3C standards, current browsers, and search engine optimization.
• Extensive experience with HTML and web creation tools such as MS FrontPage.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, XML, ASP, VBScript, DHTML, and other client‑side/server‑side languages (PHP, C++, Java, Perl, SGML, ColdFusion, ActiveX).
• Competence with Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks, or similar design software.
