Welding Engineer

About the role

The Welding Engineer will develop and maintain welding procedures and qualification programs for projects, ensuring compliance with design, engineering and construction codes. Working with moderate guidance, the role focuses on solving straightforward welding challenges and supporting project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project welding procedures (WPS) and qualification records (PQR) that meet applicable codes and specifications.
• Review customer drawings, select consumables, estimate quantities, and determine joint designs.
• Prepare and submit WPS/PQR packages, conduct toolbox talks, and supervise on‑site PQR execution.
• Qualify welders, supervise metallurgical laboratory work, and oversee welding school activities.
• Consult with customers and production supervisors on metallurgical and welding issues, and assist in developing automatic welding systems.

Required profile

• BS degree in Welding, Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years experience in welding or metallurgy within fabrication and construction.
• Understanding of NDT techniques and inspection qualification preferred.
