About the role
Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Welding/NDT Inspector to support on‑shore and offshore oil & gas and petrochemical projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves ensuring the quality and compliance of welding, piping, and mechanical equipment through rigorous inspection and documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect and verify welding, process piping, and mechanical equipment on offshore and on‑shore sites.
- Conduct hydro‑testing and advanced nondestructive testing (NDT) procedures.
- Assess NDT procedures and review multidisciplinary ITPs, procedures, site queries, NCRs and concession requests.
- Liaise with EPC contractors to ensure alignment with project specifications.
- Prepare technical reports, QA/QC documentation, and ensure compliance with relevant codes.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical, Welding, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of third‑party inspection experience in oil & gas or petrochemical environments.
- Strong spoken and written English for technical reporting.
- Computer literate with familiarity of inspection software.
Required skills
- Welding inspection and NDT methods (hydro‑testing, radiography, ultrasonic, etc.).
- CSWIP 3.1, AWS‑CWI, PCN Level II or ASNT Level 2 certifications (desirable).
- Knowledge of ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO and BS codes.
- Review and approval of ITPs, procedures, NCRs and concession requests.
