Workshop Foreman

About the role

United Diesel, the authorized distributor of Renault Trucks, Tata Motor buses and trucks and provider of after-sales services, is looking for a Foreman in Dubai. The foreman supervises the daily activities of the workshop to keep productivity and service quality high, motivates the team and meets and improves the workshop's budget and profitability. He is also responsible for cost control and for delivering the financial results of his assigned targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Service Manager in preparing annual and monthly service targets (gross profit, labour revenue, vehicles serviced, CSI, productivity, efficiency, retention) and monitor their achievement
• Supervise daily workshop operations, monitoring efficiency, productivity and utilization and using customer feedback to identify improvement areas
• Prepare and submit monthly reports on key figures to management
• Ensure work instructions are followed so repairs meet manufacturer guidelines and turn around quickly
• Monitor spare parts and consumables availability with the Parts department and vendors
• Resolve escalated customer complaints and implement corrective actions
• Ensure recalls, warranty and general repairs follow manufacturer guidelines
• Hold regular team meetings, coach and train the team, provide technical support and tools, and improve service processes
• Keep the MRQ updated with changes in the service department and lead performance management, development and appraisal of staff

Required profile

• Diploma in Automotive Technology; Bachelor's degree desirable
• 3 years of supervisory experience in an automotive workshop

Required skills

• Mechanical knowledge of machines, tools, their design, use, repair and maintenance
• Business and management principles, including resource allocation, leadership and coordination
• Monitoring of gauges and indicators, quality control testing and inspections
• Health and safety awareness
