Workshop Foreman

About the role

United Diesel, the authorized distributor of Renault Trucks, Tata Motor, buses and trucks and provider of after-sales services, is looking for a Foreman in Dubai. The foreman supervises the daily activities of the workshop to keep productivity and service quality high, optimizes resources to meet and improve the workshop's budget and profitability, and takes responsibility for cost control and the financial results of the assigned targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Service Manager in preparing annual and monthly targets (gross profit, labour revenue, vehicles serviced, CSI, productivity, efficiency, retention) and monitor their achievement
• Supervise daily workshop operations, monitoring efficiency, productivity and utilization and using customer feedback to identify improvement areas
• Prepare and submit monthly reports on key figures to management
• Ensure work instructions are followed so vehicles turn around quickly and repairs follow manufacturer guidelines
• Coordinate spare parts and consumables with the Parts department and vendors, and resolve escalated customer complaints
• Carry out recalls, warranty and general repairs according to manufacturer guidelines
• Hold regular team meetings, coach and counsel the team, provide technical support and tools, and update the MRQ to keep QMS documentation current
• Lead the function by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, and giving formal and informal feedback and appraisals

Required profile

• Diploma in Automotive Technology; a Bachelor's degree is desirable
• 3 years of supervisory experience in an automotive workshop

Required skills

• Mechanical knowledge of machines, tools, their design, use, repair and maintenance
• Administration and management: strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership, production methods and coordination
• Operation monitoring and quality control analysis
• Health and safety knowledge of equipment, policies and procedures
