Academic Support Officer

About the role

The Academic Support Officer provides high‑level administrative and secretarial assistance to the Dean and faculty members, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations within the Faculty. This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate records, supporting meetings, and delivering excellent service to students and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Dean and faculty members.
• Develop and maintain student profiling systems for relevant departments.
• Organise and manage supervisors’ appointment schedules according to priorities.
• Analyse information and generate statistical data as requested.
• Assist in preparing correspondence, reports, and confidential materials.
• Maintain accurate paper and electronic records.

Required profile

• University degree or college diploma.
• Minimum two years of relevant administrative experience, preferably in a university setting.
• Strong organisational, planning and time‑management abilities.
• Professional handling of confidential and sensitive information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic or French is an asset.
