Accountant – Finance Operations

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to strengthen our finance function as we scale. You will maintain accurate financial records, drive a clean month‑end close, and ensure compliance with accounting standards while collaborating with credit, treasury, and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full set of books across all entities (AR, AP, GL, fixed assets, accruals, intercompany).
• Execute a 5‑7 day month‑end close, preparing P&L, balance sheet, and cash‑flow statements with variance analysis.
• Reconcile bank, wallet, and payment‑processor accounts in AED, SAR, and USD.
• Manage loan‑portfolio accounting, including profit recognition, fee amortisation, write‑offs, and IFRS 9 ECL provisioning.
• Prepare UAE VAT and corporate tax returns and coordinate with external advisors.
• Lead external audits, own the PBC list, and draft IFRS financial statements with disclosures.
• Maintain accounting policies, chart of accounts, and process documentation.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams on accounting treatment for new products.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in fintech or high‑growth financial services.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, including IFRS 9 provisions.
• Hands‑on experience with full‑set month‑end close and multi‑currency environments.
• Experience with loan/financing accounting, revenue or profit recognition, and accruals is a plus.
• Exposure to VAT and corporate tax compliance or working with external advisors is a plus.
• Proven ability to support external audits and work with auditors.
