Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to manage daily financial operations across online, POS, and retail channels. The role involves accurate recording of sales, vendor transactions, and cash handling while supporting month‑end close and audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Post and reconcile daily sales from online, POS, and retail channels.
• Record customer receipts (cash, card, bank, online gateways) and coordinate refunds with Customer Service.
• Perform regular POS and subscription billing reconciliations.
• Enter vendor bills, ensure proper coding, approvals, and match with POs/GRNs.
• Reconcile vendor statements, prepare payment batches, and maintain vendor ledgers.
• Manage petty cash float, replenishments, and documentation.
• Conduct bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and gateways.
• Reconcile VAT ledgers and assist in quarterly VAT return preparation.
• Support journal entries, accruals, and month‑end close activities.
• Prepare management reports, variance analysis, and provide data for internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with Operations, Commercial, and Production teams to ensure proper accounting of transactions.
• Identify and suggest improvements to accounting workflows and automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of accounting experience in FMCG, retail, or manufacturing within the UAE or GCC.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with UAE VAT laws and compliance processes.
• High attention to detail, ownership of deliverables, and strong organizational discipline.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as Tally, QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP, or Zoho.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for handling large volumes of transactional data.
