Accounts Manager (Focus ERP)

About the role

The Accounts Manager will lead the finance function for a consumer‑electronics retailer, overseeing all accounting and financial activities. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, and the smooth operation of the Focus ERP accounting system.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Finance Department’s business plan in line with corporate strategy.
• Review and validate all financial transactions, ensuring proper documentation.
• Manage, maintain and continuously improve the Focus ERP system, including user training and access rights.
• Prepare the annual budget, monitor expenditures, and produce variance analysis reports.
• Oversee dealer and customer account management, including credit limits, reconciliations and collections.
• Control supplier invoicing, approvals and payments, and maintain purchasing records.
• Supervise periodic inventory counts and chair the annual inventory committee.
• Produce monthly financial statements, maintain the chart of accounts and ensure proper archiving of documents.
• Supervise cash handling, manage bank relationships and support banking facility enhancements.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and supervise asset counts.

Required profile

• 8–10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a retail environment.
• Proven ability to lead a finance team and coordinate with other departments.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with budgeting, financial reporting and variance analysis.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and internal control procedures.
