Adjunct Faculty – Technology & Innovation

About the role

Heriot-Watt University Dubai is seeking qualified professionals to join its faculty as Adjunct Lecturers in Technology and Innovation. The role involves delivering high-quality teaching and supporting the university’s mission to produce industry‑ready graduates.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake teaching and assessment duties on academic programmes.
• Deliver lectures and practical workshops on design technology and innovation frameworks.
• Introduce students to technology‑driven design principles and emerging tools.
• Mentor and supervise students, providing timely formative and summative feedback.
• Support students in applying design thinking and technological methods to solve real‑world problems.
• Assess portfolios of work, including workshops, research, ideation, prototyping and reflective practice.
• Develop and maintain links with business, industry and external organisations.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Dubai campus and other Heriot‑Watt locations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience delivering lectures and workshops on design technology and innovation frameworks.
• Ability to mentor and supervise students and provide constructive feedback.
• Willingness to develop industry partnerships and collaborate with academic colleagues.
