Aircraft Mechanic A – Component Treatment Shops

About the role

The Aircraft Mechanic A – Component Treatment Shops role is responsible for performing, inspecting, reviewing, and certifying scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities within the Surface Treatment Workshops. The position ensures all heat‑treatment, plating, peening and related processes meet regulatory, safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and certify heat‑treatment, plating, peening and other surface‑treatment processes in line with approved technical data and company authorisations.
• Verify process parameters such as temperature, duration, chemical concentration, pressure and coverage, and record them accurately.
• Inspect components before, during and after treatment to confirm suitability, condition and compliance with acceptance criteria.
• Identify defects, deviations or non‑conformances and initiate reporting, segregation, corrective actions or escalation.
• Complete and certify work orders, job cards, treatment charts and related documentation within required timelines.
• Control identification, handling, storage and traceability of components, chemicals and consumables.
• Ensure all equipment (furnaces, tanks, peening devices, measuring tools) is approved, serviceable and within calibration validity before use.
