Airfreight Manager

About the role

The Airfreight Manager leads the end‑to‑end air‑freight function, driving growth, profitability and service excellence across import and export operations. Reporting to the Head of Freight Forwarding, you will shape strategy, manage commercial performance and ensure seamless shipment handling.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an air‑freight strategy aligned with overall freight forwarding goals, creating competitive service offers for key trade lanes and verticals such as pharma, perishables, e‑commerce and dangerous goods.
• Lead the Airfreight Import & Export teams, overseeing SOP compliance, operational efficiency, productivity and quality while handling escalations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, GSAs and partners; negotiate rates, contracts and capacity, especially during peak periods.
• Own the air‑freight P&L, manage revenue, gross profit and cost control, devise pricing strategies and support RFQs, tenders and key customer solutions.
• Partner with sales teams to grow volumes and strategic accounts, providing pricing guidance, market insights and solution design.
• Collaborate with Ocean Freight and Customs Brokerage units to deliver integrated services and a seamless customer experience.
• Monitor OKRs, prepare regular performance reports and forecasts for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in air‑freight operations, commercial management or logistics.
• Proven track record of managing P&L and delivering profitability improvements.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage carrier relationships.
• Excellent analytical mindset with a focus on data‑driven decision making.
