Application Engineering Manager – Power Distribution Solutions (EMEA)

About the role

Eaton is seeking an experienced Application Engineering Manager for its Power Distribution Solutions business in the EMEA region, based in Dubai. The role leads a team of application engineers delivering technical support for medium‑voltage and low‑voltage switchgear, busway, transformers and modular systems throughout the FEED, quotation and execution phases.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Application Engineers focused on medium‑voltage, low‑voltage switchgear, busway, transformers and modular solutions.
• Translate customer technical requirements into integrated Eaton solutions, including xModular systems, SCADA, PLC and packaged substations.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 62271 series standards and customer specifications such as arc classification, CT/VT selection, relay protection and arc venting.
• Collaborate with tendering, sales, BDMs and custom order engineering to drive technical sales of LV & MV switchgear, transformers, busway and modular products.
• Maintain technical quality and consistency in quotations, providing competitive and compliant solutions across mechanical, electrical, safety and control domains.
• Engage with EPCs, consulting engineers, CSOs and channel partners to promote Eaton data‑center offerings and influence specifications.
• Support pipeline development through technical demand creation and strategic engagement with business development managers.
• Assess market trends and risks in utilities and data‑center segments to guide product feature development and new‑product initiatives.
• Oversee technical feasibility, clarification and execution of multiple projects in parallel, ensuring timely delivery.
• Prepare technical RFQs for non‑Eaton equipment, author consultant specifications and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing application engineering teams in power distribution or related electrical engineering fields.
• Strong knowledge of medium‑voltage and low‑voltage switchgear, busway, transformers and modular solutions.
• Familiarity with IEC 62271 standards, CT/VT selection, relay protection and arc‑venting concepts.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with sales, tendering, EPCs and channel partners.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
