Applied Aerodynamics Engineer

About the role

Edge is seeking an Applied Aerodynamics Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi team. You will work on cutting‑edge aerodynamic analysis and design for aircraft, missiles, unmanned vehicles, and major aerodynamic components.

Key responsibilities

• Perform aerodynamic analysis using CFD and lower‑order tools to support aircraft and component design.
• Define, support, and interpret wind‑tunnel tests and correlate results with analytical, CFD, and flight‑test data.
• Assess mesh sensitivity, convergence, turbulence modeling, numerical uncertainty and model‑form uncertainty.
• Develop and maintain aerodynamic databases and structured datasets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive design trades throughout the aerospace lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in aerospace or applied fluid‑dynamics engineering.
• Strong practical knowledge of subsonic, transonic, supersonic or hypersonic aerodynamics.
• Experience with lift, drag, stability, control, trim and configuration development.
• Proficiency in CAD and geometry‑management processes.
