Arabic Language Manager – 12‑month contract

About the role

Canva is looking for an Arabic Language Manager to lead the localisation of its product, marketing and educational content across MENA markets. This 12‑month contract role will set the standard for high‑quality Arabic localisation, ensuring the right dialects and cultural nuances are reflected in every user touch‑point.

Key responsibilities

• Own Arabic language quality end‑to‑end, from defining standards to reviewing and approving localized content.
• Build and maintain an Arabic Style Guide and terminology glossary covering Modern Standard Arabic, Gulf, Egyptian and Levantine dialects.
• Brief, manage and quality‑review work from external Arabic translators and language vendors.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and content teams to embed localisation early in the design process.
• Identify localisation gaps across Arabic‑speaking markets and advocate for resources to close them.
• Serve as the internal expert on Arabic language decisions, including RTL considerations and culturally sensitive adaptations.
• Contribute to Canva’s broader localisation standards and share learnings across languages.

Required profile

• Native Arabic speaker with strong command of Modern Standard Arabic and key regional dialects (Gulf, Egyptian, Levantine).
• Proven experience in localisation, language or content roles, preferably within a tech or product environment.
• Ability to create frameworks and style guides from scratch and ensure adoption across cross‑functional teams.
