Architectural Inspector

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Architectural Inspector to join its UAE project teams. The role involves on‑site inspection of architectural works to ensure compliance with contract documents, approved drawings, specifications and local authority standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect architectural activities on site to verify quality and compliance with contract requirements.
• Confirm that only approved materials and systems are used, matching submittals and specifications.
• Review delivered architectural materials and verify they meet approved samples.
• Monitor finishes, workmanship and installation methods throughout construction.
• Report non‑compliance, advise the resident engineer or deputy project manager, and follow up corrective actions.
• Coordinate with contractors and other discipline inspectors to manage interfaces and sequencing.
• Assess contractor method statements for architectural scope.
• Maintain daily inspection records, reports and photographic documentation.
• Support client and authority inspections, participate in snagging, de‑snagging and final hand‑over inspections.
• Assist in reviewing as‑built drawings and close‑out documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in architectural site supervision or inspection of residential, commercial or mixed‑use projects.
• Mandatory prior experience in the UAE with knowledge of local authority requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications and shop drawings.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD; basic familiarity with BIM tools such as Revit is preferred.
