Assistant General Counsel - Legal Affairs (Fin & Com)

About the role

The Assistant General Counsel will manage negotiations on legal and strategic matters across flydubai’s operations, focusing on finance and commercial portfolios. The role involves drafting aircraft financing arrangements, commercial contracts, and providing legal advice to mitigate risks while supporting senior management in setting priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and document medium to high value transactions, including financing and loan arrangements for aircraft acquisition or refinancing.
• Negotiate maintenance, fuel, and other commodity agreements.
• Support the commercial team in a variety of contract negotiations.
• Advise on terms, liabilities and risks of proposed transactions and devise practical legal solutions.
• Evaluate and propose the company’s stance on legal issues and risks.
• Establish strong relationships with external counsel and internal clients, and supervise junior team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or Legal Studies with 4‑6 years of relevant experience.
• Admission to practice, preferably in a common‑law jurisdiction.
• Experience in asset financing, banking or commercial contracts; aviation finance experience preferred.
• Strong commercial understanding and ability to work cross‑functionally.
• Fluent English with excellent drafting skills.
