Assistant Head of Math

About the role

The Grammar School Dubai is seeking an Assistant Head of Math to lead and enhance mathematics teaching across the school. This senior teaching role combines curriculum delivery, data‑driven progress monitoring, and pastoral responsibilities to support student achievement.

Key responsibilities

• Use relevant data to monitor progress, set targets, and plan subsequent lessons.
• Plan and differentiate teaching based on pupils’ prior knowledge and capabilities.
• Ensure student progress information informs teaching, parents, and school inspections.
• Address the needs of all pupils, including SEN, gifted, EAL, and disabilities, using distinctive teaching approaches.
• Promote high standards of literacy and correct spoken English across subjects.
• Apply observation, assessment, and recording strategies to set challenging objectives and track attainment.
• Deliver the mathematics curriculum appropriate to age and ability groups.
• Prepare teaching materials, programs, and pastoral arrangements as needed.
• Provide regular oral and written feedback, encouraging student reflection and responsibility.
• Set homework and organise out‑of‑class activities to consolidate learning.
• Maintain a safe, respectful classroom environment and manage behaviour consistently.

Required profile

• Clear understanding of the needs of all pupils, including special educational needs, gifted and talented, EAL, and disabilities.
• Ability to use and evaluate distinctive teaching approaches to engage diverse learners.
• Commitment to promoting high standards of literacy and spoken English.
• Proficiency in using assessment data to improve teaching and inform stakeholders.
