Assistant Manager – GL Control (Banking)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager – GL Control to oversee the General Ledger functions for a leading bank in Dubai. The role involves monitoring the trial balance, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring robust GL reconciliation across the bank and its subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve differences between Core Banking and surrounding systems (EGL) in collaboration with IT, Operations and other teams.
• Review, identify and remediate issues in Failover, Level 2 and Level 3 reports.
• Analyse CAL and CPL variances and drive them to resolution with support from relevant stakeholders.
• Rectify daily trial‑balance mismatches by coordinating with branches, Operations and IT.
• Address discrepancies in Real, DE, Inter‑branch, Inter‑system Bridge, GL vs Sub‑GL and other suspense accounts.
• Oversee reconciliations for all Asset & Liability GL accounts and manage department‑wise GL ownership.
• Ensure adherence to approved policies, procedures, SLAs and regulatory requirements to maintain quality and mitigate risk.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree.
• Professional qualification such as ACA or ACCA.
• 6–8 years of experience in the banking sector, preferably in GL control or finance operations.
