Assistant Manager - Logistics

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Logistics will support the Logistics Manager in planning, coordinating and executing all logistics activities for substation projects across the Middle East. The role ensures that electrical equipment and materials are moved efficiently, on time and within budget to meet project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement logistics strategies for substation projects, including transportation of transformers, GIS equipment, switchgear and other electrical items.
• Coordinate local and international shipments, manage freight forwarders, shipping lines, transport contractors and customs brokers.
• Oversee warehouse operations, inventory control, stock level monitoring and periodic audits.
• Ensure compliance with UAE and GCC customs regulations, handling import/export documentation and permits.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Procurement, Site Managers and vendors to guarantee material availability.
• Prepare logistics budgets, monitor costs and drive cost‑saving initiatives while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• 8–15 years of logistics and supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in electrical transmission, power, EPC or substation projects.
• Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPL, CILT or PMP are advantageous.
