About the role
The Department of Arabic and Translation Studies seeks an Assistant Professor to join its faculty starting Fall 2027. The position involves teaching Arabic heritage courses, developing UAE‑focused curricula, and integrating new technologies into scholarship.
Key responsibilities
- Teach entry‑level Arabic heritage and literature courses.
- Develop and deliver courses on the history, culture and society of the United Arab Emirates.
- Incorporate new technologies into teaching and research activities.
- Participate in curriculum and program design and development.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Arabic Studies, Arabic Literature, Arabic Heritage or a related field.
- Native or near‑native proficiency in Arabic and strong English skills.
- Demonstrated scholarly record or potential and relevant teaching experience.
- Familiarity with Western models of higher education.
- UAE nationals are encouraged to apply.
