Assistant Professor – Civil Engineering (Water Resources)

About the role

The University seeks an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering specializing in Water Resources to join its College of Engineering and IT. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and community service while supporting the growth of the institution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate courses in Fluid Mechanics, Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Engineering Drawing, and Computer Aided Design (CAD).
• Adopt innovative, technology‑based teaching methods and assess student progress.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university committees.
• Provide consultancy services to researchers and industry partners.
• Conduct high‑quality research, publish in reputable journals and conferences, and pursue interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Maintain a respectful, culturally sensitive learning environment and foster effective relationships across the university and community.
• Mentor and inspire students and colleagues, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a related field from a reputable university.
• Outstanding teaching record and a strong publication record in top journals.
• Experience supervising student projects and theses.
• Evidence of collaborative, interdisciplinary research and community service.

Required skills

• Effective oral and written communication.
• Familiarity with the credit‑hour academic system.
• Ability to supervise student work and provide academic advising.
• Independent research capability and publication experience.
• Experience working with diverse teams.
• Knowledge of academic program planning and implementation.
• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Computer Aided Design (CAD).
