Assistant Professor – Histopathologist

About the role

The Department of Pathology at UAE University’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences is seeking a full‑time Assistant Professor in Histopathology. The successful candidate will join a vibrant academic community, contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate education, and support clinical pathology services.

Key responsibilities

• Teach pathology to pre‑clinical medical students, PhD candidates and medical residents.
• Provide histopathology services including grossing and reporting of surgical and cytological specimens.
• Participate in intradepartmental consultations, hospital tumor board meetings, and multidisciplinary case discussions.
• Maintain an active research programme and scholarly publications.
• Contribute to curriculum development and academic committees.

Required profile

• Board certification in Anatomical Pathology or Anatomical/Clinical Pathology.
• MD or MBBS with advanced training/fellowship from an accredited centre (North America, Australia, Europe or South Africa).
• Demonstrated record of peer‑reviewed publications.
• Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

Required skills

• Expertise in grossing and reporting surgical and cytological specimens.
• Ability to engage in multidisciplinary tumor board discussions.
• Strong research and scholarly writing skills.
