Assistant Professor in Basic Medical Sciences

About the role

The university seeks an Assistant Professor to join its Basic Medical Sciences faculty. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, supervise practical sessions and contribute to research and curriculum development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lectures, tutorials and laboratory sessions in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, histopathology and microbiology.
• Assess student performance, provide feedback and support academic progression.
• Conduct and publish research in peer‑reviewed journals; supervise undergraduate research projects.
• Participate in curriculum design, course management and accreditation activities.
• Mentor students on career development, academic skills and research opportunities.
• Engage with the university community through meetings, academic planning and quality‑assurance processes.
• Organise and contribute to community‑focused academic events, workshops and seminars.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Basic Medical Sciences (Anatomy, Physiology, Histopathology or related fields).
• Minimum of 2 years of university teaching experience with a record of teaching excellence.
• Research publications indexed in Scopus or journals of high international repute.
• Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and curriculum renewal.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using e‑learning systems and educational technology for delivering content.
• Strong communication skills in English and Arabic.
